House Prefect 1934

Frank was born on 25 February 1917 in Kings Norton, Worcestershire, to Gilbert Holdsworth and his wife Adelaide (née Chambers). At the College he was a keen footballer, playing for the 1st XI for his final two years, and also became a School Prefect.

On 10 February 1945 he was flying his RAF Mosquito fighter back from action when he crashed in Lincolnshire. His plane was thought to be short of fuel, possibly due to damage from anti-aircraft fire or aerial combat during the mission.

His younger brother and only sibling, John, had already perished over the North Sea three years before while also flying for the RAF. Holdsworth is buried in Chislehurst Cemetery in Bromley, London.
