While our 4th Form are busy researching the school’s Roll of Honour, pupils in the 6th Form are planning to supplement their research by way of an oral-history project. The aim of the project is to document life ‘on the home front’ at Brighton College. To help them prepare, we invited Nicola Benge, from Strike a Light, to deliver a training session on Friday.

Nicola discussed the theory behind oral history, the ethical frameworks that support it, and explained how pupils might go about planning/delivering their project. She also shared some brilliant examples of projects she has worked on, which include using drama to creatively engage audiences. We hope that our 6th-Form project-team are feeling inspired, and are ready to start planning after the half-term holidays.
